Actually, at Kambrica we don’t have “clients.”
As strategic UX consultants, we don’t have “clients.” We have advised people, guided people, stakeholders… But not “clients.”
By breaking with the term “client,” we break with the notion that “the customer is always right.” A mistaken notion, as we’ll see later.
We don’t work for people who believe they are “right.”
We work for people who recognize and respect how our knowledge and experience can help them make better decisions and achieve better results.
Our role as UX consultants at Kambrica is not to validate those who hire us. Our role is to help them understand their customer.
And it’s that final customer who will make decisions about the product or service based on their own criteria… and not on what the business believes is correct. That’s the original meaning of the phrase “the customer is always right”: we need to understand how end customers decide if we intend to reach them.
